CoinMarketCap hacked via supply chain attack to drain crypto wallets
A tampered API payload injected a wallet-draining script into CoinMarketCap’s homepage via a compromised “doodle” image, stealing $43,266 from 110 victims. The attackers exploited a third-party resource to bypass direct detection.
Impact: Crypto theft via fake Web3 popups mimicking legitimate transactions.
